Motivation and discipline are those driving forces that won’t let you turn away from the path toward your goals. These phenomena are quite crucial in terms of success, but their roles are not equivalent. One of them is much more significant

The combination of both extrinsic and intrinsic motivations definitely strengthens the urge to get down to business. Yet, no matter how strong this aspiration is, unfortunately, it’s only short-term and pretty inconsistent
The truth is that the feeling of great encouragement cannot last 24/7. It certainly helps to kick off enthusiastically, but in times of lack of motivation, discipline is the only thing you can count on.
Self-discipline is the ability to make yourself do things you know you should do even when you do not want to.
It is a tool of your responsibility for your personal choices. Implementing self-discipline entails setting some regulations and developing habits to get needed things done despite various difficulties and obstacles. The best way to achieve this is to incorporate some activities into the daily routine.
Comparing motivation and self-discipline, we may draw such an analogy. Let us imagine our goal as some physical destination we can reach using a car. Motivation can be associated with turning on the ignition and starting the engine. Yet, this alone isn’t enough to overcome the whole path. We need fuel to move, and it can be matched to self-discipline. After we start the car, it is the fuel that will lead us to our destination. That means that our self-discipline plays a key role in attaining success.
